Especially during times of economic uncertainty, financial difficulties can cause unexpected impacts on the overall community while being extremely difficult to navigate through as individuals or families. At NICSA, despite being entirely dependent on donations, we do our very best in providing financial assistance to our congregants on a case by case basis.
Be it through Zakaat al Maal, Sadaqah, or Sadaqatul Fitr; providing assistance is an Islamic obligation ordained to establish social welfare and to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood amongst the Muslim community. It is an important service provided by the Center to cater to members of our Muslim community who are in need of financial help and support. Applications for financial aid are accepted and reviewed on a regular basis by the Finance Committee. Interviews with the applicants are also conducted, as needed, to determine eligibility.
