Masjid Construction

We currently have a funding shortfall of $1.2 million. Of this amount, $500,000 is urgently needed to purchase materials for roofing, stucco, electrical work, HVAC, and other essential tasks to expedite the project. Additionally, we will require another $700,000 through February 2026 to complete the finishing work and obtain the occupancy certificate from the city, which will help us avoid a tax penalty for the past six years. NATURE OF URGENCY:
  • The COUNTY TAX deferment on real estate will end in March 2026, which is crucial for obtaining the completion occupancy certificate by March; otherwise, heavy taxes of about $700,000 for the past six years will be charged.
  • Our current rented premises have become too small to accommodate the community’s growing needs. During the upcoming Ramadan, congregants will struggle to manage standing outside in cold, rainy weather during Tarawih prayers in February and March of 2026.
  • Our sisters are placed in a cramped room at the back, which is not sufficient.
  • Our youth after-school programs are hindered by insufficient.
  • Our current masjid holds about 100 men, while the community needs more than 600 worshippers. The nearest masjid is more than 40 minutes away.

Need

We need to take immediate action to support this project and ensure its completion, which will save county tax dollars $700K and address the increasing needs of the community. Most of the foundational work is finished, and the structure is already in place; now it’s essential to accelerate the finishing process to complete by the end of February 2026.

 

Our ambitious goal is to complete the construction by the end of February 2026, just before the critical deadline in March 2026. This cannot be achieved without your generous support. Our Journey So Far

For years, our community has prayed in a small 3,000 sq. ft. rented space inside a commercial complex.
Even with limited capacity, Allah has blessed us with:

  • Three dedicated shuyūkh and a team of tireless volunteers and committee members
  • An after-school Islamic and ḥifdh program for over 75 children
  • Sunday activities for little ones under 6
  • Weekly tafsīr and family and youth ḥalaqahs for spiritual nourishment
  • Education for a large group of converts/reverts
  • Da‘wah programs, new Muslim support, marriage and funeral services, and community outreach

This small space is full of life, but too small for our growing community. During Tarāwīḥ and Jumu‘ah, brothers often pray outside the masjid because there is no room inside.

A Heart-touching reminder:

“The mosques of Allah are maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, give zakāh, and fear none but Allah. It is they who are rightly guided.”
(Al-Qur’ān 9:18
